A seasoned investment professional, Patrick Thornton brings a wealth of experience to FJG. Prior to joining the firm, he spent fourteen years with Morgan Stanley, seven as Vice President there. "I never thought I would be in the investment field growing up. Originally, I was a schoolteacher. What makes this business so fascinating to me is that each client has different needs and objectives. They all view risk differently. Our job is to take in all the information and help them come up with a plan that works and that they can understand."

Patrick's leadership of the Asset Management group at FJG includes development of a group of services designed to work for a wide range of clients, from the sophisticated investor to new business owners. He works with clients to build their businesses, fund their children's education and plan for retirement. "I've been in the investment business for 25 years. This is a trust business. You should not be in this business unless you truly believe that you can help your clients and add value to their lives. A great joy for me is when a client asks me for advice on something not totally related to investments. It means to me that there is a trust relationship between us."

Patrick and his wife, Jana, live in Williston, where they constantly track the travels of their five grown children around the world. "These are great children. All different. All in various places around the country. It is so much fun to watch them grow and realize their goals."
