Jeff Kinneston works with clients interested in retirement planning. "For most people there are no do-overs when it comes to their retirement so there is a huge responsibility to get it right. As life expectancies continue to increase and as companies have moved away from defined benefit retirement plans to employee directed 401ks, one of the greatest risks facing many of my clients today is the risk of outliving their retirement. As my clients retire, it's important to help them transition from a focus on the Return on Investment (ROI) during their working years to a focus on the Reliability of Income (ROI) in retirement." Using the latest financial planning software tools, MoneyGuidePro™, The Income for Life Model™ and Morningstar®, Jeff provides comprehensive pre- and post-retirement planning services. He believes fundamental to the retirement planning process is risk management, which requires an integrated analysis of life insurance, disability insurance and long term care and retirement needs and he recommends a mix of investment products including mutual funds, fixed, variable and indexed annuities.
In addition to working with individuals, Jeff helps business owners design and implement employee and executive benefit plans and manage their succession planning; the keys to his approach are creativity and employee education.
Jeff started his career at Penn Mutual in 1985, joining his father, Jim, as a third-generation insurance professional. From the start, he knew the importance of staying well informed, and throughout his career placed a major emphasis on continuing education and keeping current with changes in tax laws, products and industry trends. He demonstrates a sincere concern for his clients and works very hard to put their interests and needs at the forefront of his practice."I believe knowledge and character are essential in my profession and you can't be successful without both."
Jeff lives in Shelburne with his wife Amy and three children Amanda, Emily, and Nicholas. A native Vermonter, he has a love for the outdoors. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, boating and camping with his family. He enjoys watching and coaching his children in their sports. Jeff is also an avid squash and basketball player.
